Once it\u2019s in the open, though, it then becomes a shared point of view with you, the readers \u2013 and your point of view is what builds the discussions around a post. Sometimes you\u2019ll agree with me; other times, not so much. And that\u2019s what makes the comments after a post such a fervent breeding ground for ideas.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>I don\u2019t mind if you attack me for my views. Heck, I\u2019m big and ugly enough to take your shots, and it shows me that you\u2019re passionate about a topic \u2013 and I would never discourage passion.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Besides, I\u2019m the person that\u2019s invoked that reaction, so if it\u2019s an attack, let\u2019s have it open and unfiltered (although keeping it respectful would be nice).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>What I won\u2019t accept, however, is attacking other commenters. They\u2019re like you \u2013 simply offering an additional view on the starting topic. By all means, attack me \u2013 the blog is my home and as the owner, I\u2019m responsible for what goes on inside. But attacking another commenter \u2013 that\u2019s poor form.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>I\u2019m a firm believer in an open comment policy; I don\u2019t moderate before publication, because I feel that stints genuine interaction and conversation. Going by the conversations that have happened over the months, it would appear that most agree.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Let\u2019s play nice and keep it that way. Like I say, attack me if you wish \u2013 as the instigator of discussion, I\u2019m open to all views and words. But let\u2019s treat the guests (and that includes you) nicely. Otherwise, you will be moderated and deleted where I feel it\u2019s applicable. Continue to be abusive and you will be banned.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The same goes for comments that include slanderous or libelous statements. As the owner of this blog, I\u2019m responsible for what\u2019s posted here, so I won\u2019t allow allegations that could result in legal action \u2013 these comments will be removed.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>And let\u2019s keep the bigotry, hate, sexism, profanity and all that other fun stuff off here too. You want that, hit up TechCrunch, YouTube or similar. Oh, and no affiliate links in the comments, please \u2013 instead, feel free to point to any blog posts you\u2019ve written about a particular affiliate program.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sound fair?<\/p><p>Oh \u2013 and one more thing. Real names only, please \u2013 no SEO-driven keyword names. You get a link back to your site anyway thanks to the Do-Follow arrangement here, so there\u2019s no need to go double SEO on me.
